Oh no! Another Designer...
Yes, another designer.
How many of us are out there? Plenty, I guess. So many that we might just be designing ourselves into extinction. Or maybe just maybe, only a few of us are truly at risk of becoming irrelevant.
As an industrial designer, I often wonder: where does artificial intelligence leave us? Is it just another tool, or the beginning of the end of what we do? What do we still bring to the table when machines can draw, ideate, and even “create”?
But I don’t ask this out of fear, I ask it out of purpose. After years working in product development and design, I’ve come to believe that if we’re still here, we’d better use our skills to design something that actually matters.
If we're still here, let's not just design.
